About us Whiteley Church Ecumenical Partnership is sponsored by the Church of England, the Methodist church and United Reformed Church. This means these churches support us financially and prayerfully.
However our congregation is made up of many more denominations than just these, together with many who have not been regular church attendees before.
Our worship is informal and joyful. Children are very welcome and we have Sunday school and a Crèche. Services are held at 10am at Whiteley Community Centre, Gull Coppice, Whiteley.
The Church was started in September 95 meeting initially in a private home. In July 2002, we moved to meet in the Whiteley Community Centre. (For more details, see our website)
Ministry in Whiteley Following Barry and Suzanne Dugmore’s move to Exeter Diocese at the end of April the denomination’s leaders (Bishop Kenneth - Anglican, Adrian Bulley - URC and Andrew Wood - Methodist) have written to the Church Council with their decision not to appoint anyone initially. An Interim Minister will be appointed by the denomination’s leaders and will lead the church while an LEP Review takes place, following which a decision will be made about future leadership of the church. The Anglican Church will continue as lead denomination with Rev Bill Day (Rural Dean and Vicar of St Peter’s Titchfield) and Rev Lorraine Snape which means that the church will have continued authorised and ordained leadership rather than an interregnum.
As a church we wish Barry and Suzanne all the best in their move to Barry’s new post in the Exeter Diocese. Over the past two years which Barry has been with us a lot of new things have taken place and we have seen a number of new people join the church. We thank God for their ministry within both the church at Whiteley and within the circuit. I am sure that they will be missed by many.
