Stoke Road Gosport Methodist Church is situated on Stoke Road in the heart of Gosport. Gosport is a town with an important naval history and a number of naval establishments are still operating within the town. Our church was rebuilt about 15 years ago so, although it looks traditional on the outside, the interior is modern and has been designed with a view to community use. A number of community organisations operate from our building.
Fire In 1979 our church suffered a disastrous fire that almost completely destroyed the building. It was later rebuilt, retaining the original shell but completely remodeling the interior to provide facilities that would be of more benefit to the community.
200 Years! In 2010, it will be 200 years since the first Methodist chapel was built in Gosport. In 1910, a chapel was built on the current site. Download the newsletter produced at the time.
Sunday Services Our main service on a Sunday is at 10.30, which includes our Junior Church activities and there is an evening service at 6.00 p.m. Download the Circuit Plan for further details.
